On Sunday, October 5, the Marilyn Schneider Team walked in the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk in downtown Rochester, NY. The walk began at 10:00am and lasted until walkers had finished a 5K journey through the central part of the city. An estimated 9,000 participated in the walk that began and ended at Frontier Field.

Marilyn's team brought in over $4,000 in donations and had about 40 walkers. We walked for Breast Cancer survivor Ann Murphy (mother of dancer Cecilia Murphy) as well as for those who have survived or fallen victim to the terrible disease. This is a great way to get our young dancers to take part in a community service that teaches them morals and honor as well as respect for those who have suffered.

In past years, the studio has brought several walkers, but never in this volume. This was a record year in both numbers and donations! We hope to grow more every year, but we'll need more of our dancers, parents and friends to participate with us!
